Nose
Upon the first swirl, the nose is greeted with an enticing bouquet of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and black currants. Notes of cassis and plum emerge, along with a subtle hint of violet. The aroma is layered and complex, offering a tantalizing preview of the wine’s depth.
Palate
On the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases remarkable structure and balance. The 36 months of aging in new French oak barrels have contributed to a velvety texture and integrated tannins that provide a luxurious mouthfeel. The wine’s intense fruit flavors burst forth, with ripe black fruits taking center stage. Dark chocolate, espresso, and a touch of vanilla from the oak aging add complexity and depth.
2021 VINTAGE
The beginning of the 2021 growing season was defined by copious rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season, not without its moments of unpredictability, helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins.
